Headed South

Hooray, hooray, a long weekend away! Happy to be headed to Naples, Fla, where I would be joining hubby who was there on a business trip. My bag was packed with many cute outfits for the delightfully warm climate, accessories/shoes/handbags all planned out, but this post is about my travel outfit – just as planned as any other!

The essentials of a travel outfit: stylish, fun, and comfortable. And even though this was not a business trip for me, looking polished is always a must because you never know who you are going to run into! These comfy pants from Old Navy were perfect…

Such a fun print with flamingos, palm trees, and zebras…definitely sets the tone for a warm weather destination…the sneakers by Ron White are not only comfortable, but they also have a slight lift in the heel, so they add just enough height for a petite gal…the blazer by Zadig and Voltaire adds instant polish, even though the outfit is casual.

Under the blazer, a simple white tee by Rag and Bone. The fit and fabric of a Rag and Bone tee is why I am a loyal fan; this one is new after I finally (and reluctantly) got rid of the one I wore out…BUT – a tee and a light blazer will not be warm enough on the plane…need another layer…

Perfect! A super light puffer by Uniqlo…it’s warm, it’s cuddly, and it easily stuffs into a tote or carry-on bag…with a soft cotton scarf I am good to go…

Oh, you want to know about my bag??? This is actually one of my beach bags that I decided to carry as a tote/handbag on the plane. Plenty of room for snacks and a magazine or two…brand is Brasi & Brasi, bought last year at Portobello Road in Chestnut Hill…super shiny, looks great on the beach!

Oh – you want to know about my other bag???   Yes, OF COURSE!

I had been on the lookout for a new laptop bag. It is something that I carry every day, so it’s about time that I had one that I really loved…Louis Vuitton makes quite a few, but I wanted the classic/original brown pattern in a style that had room for more than just a laptop. Found this online at REBAG, a business for ‘once loved’ handbags that are ‘white glove inspected’. I was somewhat reluctant because this would be a big purchase, and something looking used would not be ok with me. After calling and learning that it could be returned (within 48 hours), I decided to take a chance. SO GLAD that I did! It arrived with all the authenticity paperwork, packaged as beautifully as any high end label, and looked BRAND NEW! 🙂

So that was my travel outfit heading south, here is what I wore heading back north…definitely not as polished but when you have a tan and a post-vacation glow, just about anything goes!

Back at Logan Airport

What do YOU like to wear when traveling???
